πŸš€ Getting Started

PawPals is free to use and takes less than two minutes to set up. Here's how to get going.

Creating your account

Open the app and tap Sign Up

On the welcome screen, tap the Sign up tab at the top. Enter your full name, email address, and a password (at least 8 characters).

2

Tap Create account

Your account is created instantly β€” no email confirmation needed. You'll land straight on the Explore screen.

3

Complete your profile

Tap the Profile tab, then Edit Profile to add your location and a bio. This helps other dog owners know who you are.

Tip: Adding your location (suburb or city) helps the community find walks near you.

πŸ• Adding Your Dog

Adding your dog lets other owners know who's coming on walks. You can add multiple dogs.

1

Go to Profile β†’ My Dogs

Tap the Profile tab at the bottom of the screen, then scroll down to the My Dogs section.

2

Tap + Add Dog

Enter your dog's name, breed, size (small / medium / large), and optionally their age and a photo.

3

Tap Save

Your dog is now on your profile. Tap the pencil icon next to any dog to edit their details later.

  • Direct β€” one-to-one conversations with walk organisers
  • Walk Chats β€” group chats for walks you've joined

Starting a conversation

Open any walk's detail page and tap Message Organiser. This opens a direct conversation with the person who created the walk. You cannot message the organiser of your own walk.

  • Past β€” completed walks, most recent first

Each walk shows whether you're Hosting or Attending, along with the date, time, location, and attendee count. Tap any walk card to open the full walk detail.
